Education and Public Outreach
Important aspects of the NASA Astrobiology Institute's outreach efforts are in supporting individual Lead Member Institute's projects, coordinating projects to enhance their impact and benefit, and assisting in the creation of Institute-wide efforts. The NAI's Outreach Office focuses on educating both public and professional communities on the organization and activities of the Institute. The field of Astrobiology is presented to the public with the emphasis on the role of the NASA Astrobiology Institute in Astrobiology research and space missions, and technology development.
The NASA Astrobiology Institute's presence on the internet is complex and interactive (http://nai.arc.nasa.gov). The NASA Astrobiology Institute website offers sections geared to the interests of general visitors, researchers, educators, students, and the media. Through featured articles presented on the home page and on line chats linked by their themes, the site also offers a means for the public to interface directly with NAI.
