This course is for scientists
who wish to receive a broad introduction to planetary
science and exposure to field concepts. The content
covers the entire breadth of planetary science, touching
on the Earth and on extrasolar planets but focusing
predominantly on our own solar system processes. The
course is a mix of classroom lecture/discussion and
hands-on field observation that includes in-the-field
description and discussion by an expert. Approximately
half of the course will consist of lectures and classroom
discussion; the rest of the time will be spent in the
field.
Field sites will include Meteor Crater, Sunset Crater
Volcano and nearby volcanic sites, and the Grand Canyon.
