The 2003 Insight Course in Planetary Science was
attended by a group of 22 scientists with a diversity
of scientific and technological interests. The content
of the course covered the entire breadth of planetary
science, touching on the Earth and on extrasolar
planets but focusing on our own solar system processes.
The course was a mix of classroom lecture/discussion
and hands-on field observation - as the photos
from the 2003 course show. Browsing
through them will give a sense of the field and classroom
activities that were conducted. Approximately half
of the course consisted of lectures and classroom
discussion; the rest of the time was spent in the
field. Field sites will included Meteor Crater, Sunset
Crater Volcano and nearby volcanic sites, and the
Grand Canyon. Sign
