2003 Insight Course Introduction to the Microbial World

 

Course Description

This course was designed for scientists who wished to receive a broad introduction to microbiology. The course included discussions of metabolic and genetic diversity, and the contribution of these to ecosystem processes. Topics on the origin and evolution of life, geological traces of life, and astronomical biosignatures were also covered.

The course was held at the USC Wrigley Marine Science Center (WMSC) on Catalina Island, California.
