Located in the north-central part of Colorado, Northwest of Denver, the eastern half of Boulder County is rolling plains, and the western half is mountainous. Elevations within the boundaries of the County vary from the 5,000 foot level of the plains to the 14,000 foot peaks of the Continental Divide. Boulder County encompasses 741 square miles and is situated on the eastern slope of Rocky Mountains. The spectacular scenery of the Rocky Mountain National Park is one of Boulder County's great treasures.

- Boulder Falls: Boulder is surrounded by open spaces and mountain parks. Boulder Falls is just one of the many outdoor attractions. This is where North Boulder Creek falls 70 feet into Middle Boulder Creek. The Falls are located up Boulder Canyon.
