| The interdisciplinary nature of astrobiology creates an environment where teams are distributed geographically and require communication and collaboration tools to bridge distances. NAI has evaluated a number of these tools and is continuously evolving their use. The following page lists the tools currently in use by NAI members and how to access them.
The Handbook for NAI Teams describes
how the NAI operates. It
includes information on NAI membership and organization;
reporting
and publications; grants, funding opportunities and
financial
processes; partnerships; the virtual institute and
collaborative
tools; and NAI Education and Outreach.
The NAI Directory is a searchable
directory of NAI people that includes photographic portraits
of individuals. The Directory may be used to obtain
contact information for individuals including telephone
and fax numbers, email and mailing addresses.
NAI Shared Resources Database
NAI member institutions, as partners in a Cooperative Agreement, are encouraged to share significant and unique research facilities across the Institute and throughout the astrobiology community.
This database information is available to foster further collaboration, augment individual research capability, and accelerate the overall advancement of research in astrobiology. The database is searchable by keyword, Lead Team, category, and discipline.
The NAI Emailer is a web-based service for sending email messages to specific NAI groups, such as NAI Central, Education and Outreach, or to everyone in the Institute.
